La canción del viernes

Otro viernes, otra canción, esta vez un clásico entre los clásicos, Telegraph Road de Dire Straits, una de las mejores canciones del grupo, Knopfler se sale, la guitarra pefecta como siempre, además traigo la versión en directo del aLCHEMY, una preciosa canción, no solo su música es una maravilla, si no que su letra también es una obra maestra, supongo que algunos hubiesen preferido el Sultans of Swing, pero a pesar de ser magnifica la letra es mucho más simplona, me quedo con Telegraph Road:


El primer disco apareció en 1978, sencillo, muy fresco, con magnificas canciones como 'Sultans of Swing', 'Down to the watreline' o 'Southbound again' entre las mejores, aunque la versión de este disco del Sultans quedaría eclipsada más adelante con la magnifica versión del aLCHEMY, con el famosísimo solo final, el segundo disco Communiqué, sigue el mismo estilo que el primero, sencillo, aunque mucho más redondo, todas las canciones son magnificas, a destacar 'Angel of Mercy', 'Once Upon a Time in the West', 'Lady Writer' o 'Portobello Belle', en 1980 en el tercer disco, 'Making Movies', se incorporan los teclados a la clasica formación 2 guitarras, bajo y bateria de los 2 primeros discos, más complejo tiene muchas joyas a destacar, como 'Romeo and Juliet', 'Skate Away' que por cierto tiene un vídeo realmente atroz, 'Hand in Hand' que me parece preciosa y 'Solid Rock' que me quedo con su frase

El cuarto álbum 'Love Over Gold' aparece en 1982 y me parece el más flojo de todos, pero contiene la versión original de la canción de hoy 'Telegraph road' aunque sus 14 minutos la hacen un pelín larga, a destacar también 'Industrial Disease', sacaron un EP llamado 'Extended Dance' con el famoso y cañero 'Twisting by the pool' y entonces, en 1984, apareció la joya que es el aLCHEMY, con los mejores temas, en versiones muchas veces mucho mejores que los discos de estudio, claros ejemplos Sultans of Swing y Telegraph Road, además añadian el Going Home de la banda sonora de Local Hero, firmada también por el señor Knopfler. El siguente trabajo fue 'Brothers in Arms' en 1985, fantastico, con canciones muy comerciales como 'Money for nothing', la más floja pero muy conocida, o 'Walk of life' junto a otras canciones mucho más serias, como el propio 'Brothers in Arms' con un fantastico video clip, 'Why Worry' o 'So far away', los pude ver en directo hace años, me llevé un buen recuerdo, el resto de discos ya no me interesaron, así que no los comento, pero llegué a aprenderme todas las letras de sus canciones.
